What the app captures, what it never records, and the only things that touch the network.

All tracking, classification and insights in Rymot Local run on your machine. Your activity database never syncs anywhere, and the app works indefinitely without an internet connection.

§01What it records

  • Applications in focus — name, category and duration. 500+ apps are classified automatically, and you can override any of them on the Applications page.
  • Website domains on Windows — the address-bar domain only, never page content. On Linux, browsers are tracked at the app level today.
  • Active vs idle time — from keyboard and mouse activity events, at 1-minute precision.
  • Focus sessions and context switches.

§02What it never records

Rymot Local never records what you type, which keys you press, or your clipboard. It does not capture screenshots in the current version.

§03What touches the network

Only the update check, plus optional anonymous crash reports and product analytics (which count which screens open, never their content). Analytics and crash reports can be switched off in Settings → Privacy. None of it ever carries your activity database.
